Description The Bernese Mountain Dog is a striking tri-colored, large dog. He is sturdy and balanced. He is intelligent, strong and agile. |
Size Males are 25 to 27 inches high and 90-120 pounds. Females are quite a bit smaller at 23 to 26 inches high and 70-85 pounds. |
Coat The coat of a Bernese Mountain Dog is thick, moderately long and slightly wavy or straight. |
Color This breed is Black Rust & White or Black Tan & White.

Temperament Bernese Mountain Dogs are self-confident, alert and good-natured, never sharp or shy. They are very happy and gentle with people, children and other animals. |
Care Walks and play time are required when young. Brush or rake their fur once a week. |
Exercise Bernese Mountain Dogs require daily walks to keep active. |
Shedding They do shed average to more than average. |
Barking & Howling They make good watch dogs because they have huge barks. |
Life Expectancy 6 - 8 years. |
